Born and Raised in Rhode Island
Jason Taylor is a Rhode Island–based trumpeter, educator, and freelance musician performing across New England in funk, rock, blues, soul, jazz, and private events. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Jason studied with world-class musicians and has performed everywhere from Disney’s Magic Kingdom to four appearances at the prestigious Newport Jazz Festival.
Since 2018, Jason has been an active performer on the New England wedding and private event circuit, bringing high-energy horn performances to dance floors and celebrations across the region. He has performed with premier event bands including Big City Band, Purple Honey, The Dukes of Circuit Ave, and Nightshift, building a reputation for versatility, professionalism, and crowd-driven musicianship.
Outside of the wedding scene, Jason performs with blues, funk, rock, soul, and jazz groups throughout the region, collaborating with projects such as The Rob Davis Band, The Green-Eyed Soul, and Slurp. Whether backing a powerhouse band, freelancing on a private event, or teaching the next generation of musicians, he brings energy, musicality, and a deep love of the horn to every performance.
Jason is also the founder of The Half-Baked Horns, a funkadelic, horn-driven original project blending powerful horn arrangements, groove, and high-energy live performance.
